Terms of service

Plain terms for a small app.

Agreement

By downloading, installing or using Beaming, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Free and Pro

Beaming Free can be used at no cost, with a watermark on the stream, mirroring sessions that stop after 10 minutes, and screenshots and recordings saved without the capture editor. Beaming Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription: it removes the watermark and the time limit and unlocks the capture editor on the number of Macs you bought it for (1 to 10, or more by email) for as long as you like. The license is personal to you or your organization: please don't share, resell or publish your key. To move it, deactivate it in Settings › License on the old Mac.

Beaming stays the property of its maker. You buy the right to use it, not the app itself, so please don't copy, modify, reverse engineer or redistribute it, except where the law lets you regardless. Beaming includes open-source components under their own licenses, such as scrcpy (Apache-2.0) and an AirPlay receiver (GPL-3.0).

Activation

Activating checks your key with Polar, and Beaming checks it again at launch and once a day, as described in the privacy policy. Offline, Pro keeps working for 14 days after the last successful check. A key that was refunded, charged back or shared in breach of these terms can be revoked, and Beaming then goes back to Free.

Updates

Updates are published on GitHub and Beaming checks for them once a day. They aren't guaranteed, and features may change or be removed over time.

Payment and refunds

Polar is the merchant of record: it runs the checkout, charges any sales tax or VAT, and its buyer terms apply to the purchase. Every purchase has a 3-day money-back guarantee, explained in the refund policy.

No warranty

Beaming talks to your devices through USB, adb and AirPlay. The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, the maker of Beaming isn't liable for lost data or indirect damages from using the app, and total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your license.

Your rights

These terms add to, and never limit, any consumer rights you have under the law where you live.

Changes

These terms may change as Beaming does. The date at the top shows the latest version, and changes never take away a license you already bought.
